Good morning, ladies and gentlemen. Actually I might not stand here if happiness isn't around me.
Last Saturday, I came first in English-speaking contest. Everyone thought it a big success and sent their congratulations to me. All of them believed that I must be very happy and excited. In fact, that's not true. No one knew how much I dislike to get ready for the competition during my homework time. Every night I felt tired but had to stay up late to fix my homework. I felt so lonely because no one could understand me, including my teachers, friends and parents. I even felt like I was ready to quit. Just at that time, I found my happiness.
On a sunny noon, my physics teacher had a long chat with me. He told me about her daughter who once wanted to quit in a competition as well. On his daughter’s 20th birthday, he sent her a message, ‘It is called happiness when you do something you like, but most of the time, you have to do the things you don't like at the beginning, and then make the things become those you like.’ I was suddenly enlightened and I knew I must come here today to enjoy my happiness with you. No matter what the result will be, I have tried my best for this moment, so I feel very satisfied at present.
In fact, happiness is always around us as long as we shoulder pressure, overcome difficulties and keep moving. No matter how tough life is, just never give up and we'll find that happiness is always around us.
That's all. Thanks for your attention.
