Journal # 5. “He had a dream; a stairway was set on the ground and its top reached to the sky, and the angels of god were going up and down on it. And the lord was standing beside him, and he said, ‘I am the lord…Remember, I am with you: I will protect you wherever you go and will bring you back to this land. I will not leave you until I have done what I have promised you.’” 来自:作文大全 来源:作文网 zw.liuxue86.com “Hear this dream which I have dreamed: There we were binding sheaves in the field, when suddenly my sheaf stood up and remained upright; then your sheaves gathered around and bowed low to my sheaf.” “Look, I have had another dream: And this time, the sun, the moon, and eleven stars were bowing down to me.” “Pharaoh dreamed that he was standing by the Nile, when out of the Nile there came up seven cows, handsome and sturdy, and they grazed in the reed grass. But presently, seven other cows came up from the Nile close behind them, ugly and gaunt, and stood beside the cows on the bank of the Nile; and the ugly gaunt cows ate up the seven handsome study cows.” “Seven ears of grain, solid and healthy, grew on a single stalk. But close behind them sprouted seven ears, thin and scorched by the east wind. And the thin ears swallowed up the seven solid and full years.” [And he said. “Hear now my words: If there be a prophet among you, I the lord will make myself known unto him in a vision, and will speak unto him in a dream.”] [I will pour out my My spirit upon all flesh: and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see vision, and your old men shall dream dreams] The interpretation of dream was common in the bible stories. In a religious sense, in ancient times, god relayed his messages though the visions and dreams, normally given to their prophets and leaders. Most dreams served the purpose of sending a task to complete, hinting a future scene, or to cause changes in the way the receivers act. In a realistic sense, seeking for God’s intervention is understandable, for those dreams do involve disease, disaster fear, and other adverse effects. Or in the other hand, dreams suggest an opinion (like Joseph’s dream), to back up his suggestion, God is always nice to be pulled out. Since these dreams were dreamed by normal people, they involve everyday concerns and activities, it would be ok to think these were messages from god, because they wouldn’t be very bizarre or farfetched. 《BAIL.
