1. Frodo leaves the Shire 来自:作文大全The Journey begins when Frodo finally learns about the one ring which was accidently discovered by Bilbo and passed on to him. He was separated from the other normal hobbits in the Shire and was called to a quest in which he will destroy the one ring that the Dark Lord was looking for. 来源:作文网 zw.liuxue86.com In this case, Frodo knew what his quest was and what was waiting for him. He felt the responsibility upon his shoulders and agreed to make his journey. He was neither lured away on the quest by promise nor dragged away on it against his will. He went willingly, and comfortably, at least until he was already well on the way and could not turn back. 2.Ring wraiths While Frodo, Sam and Pippin were heading to his new house in Buckland, they saw black riders (servants of the enemy) trying to track them. Frodo felt a strong desire to slip on his ring. During this part of the novel, the difference of The Shire and the road was obvious. And the hobbits where out there all of a sudden, facing coldness, loneliness and terrible riders which they had never experienced in The Shire. Frodo, as a hero, faced the danger he already had in mind. But don’t forget, there is more to that than just the riders, as he was already falling under the power of the ring. 3. Loyal friends Frodo arrived at his new home, and all his friends were willing to go with him to Revendell together, in spite of the danger. Having such loyal friends was absolutely necessary for the hero to go on with his quest. And Frodo learns that he must be trustful in order to get help. 4. Inner strength Immediately after the encounter with Old Man Willow and a bit of a respite at the house of Tom Bombadil, the hobbits went up on the haunted Barrow Downs. They were captured and brought underground by a wight who intended to kill them. At this point, Frodo finally realized the connections between him and his friends. Courage was awakening inside him for the first time. And that his heroic skills were building up. Eventually he called Tom Bombadil for help. He did not stand out from the others as the strongest, but can accept help from the others. 5. Attack After Strider had joined them, the hobbits moved on to Weathertop. Frodo sensed the black riders and slipped the ring on, and that was when he was stabbed in the shoulder. Things got pretty serious here. The power of the ring was becoming almost irresistible, and that Frodo could not overcome. But this is also a symbol of Frodo dying his old self, and becoming someone with more heroic characteristics. 6. Meetings Finally they reached Revendell, met many people, including Bilbo. Bilbo turned to be strange and unpleasant at the mention of the ring. This troubled Frodo; their friendship began to turn into a deep dark shadow. We can see that the ring had corrupted Bilbo deeply, just as it did to Gollum. And this warned Frodo to fight against the evil power. 7. The Great Council Frodo learned much more about the ring during the Council held by Elrond. He volunteered to go on as the ring bearer with his fellowship and strike southwards. Frodo had a chance of refusing the quest at the Council but didn’t. Because he felt the burden of his responsibility grew stronger, found out the importance of his being involved. He was more determined about the road that leads ahead. 8. Loss of Gandalf The fellowship decided to go through the Mines of Moria. Gandalf solved the secret password of the great gate. They were attacked by Balrogs. Gandalf went missing. Aragorn took the roll. This showed how powerful Gandalf was, more powerful than we thought. He had always been there when Frodo met a problem, always warned him of danger. But now Gandalf left the party, leaving Frodo to make plans for himself. This again, proved Frodo is growing mature. 9. The Debate The fellowships were arguing about which way to go, to Minas Tirith with Boromir and Aragorn or to Mordor. It was Frodo’s decision to make. At this point, Frodo was feeling weak on account of the ring. He could have gone to Minas Tirith with all his friends but that was not the way the ring was supposed to go. At the same time, he was struggling with the evil power that was corrupting him, making him weaker than ever. This was probably the biggest struggle throughout the hero’s journey. 10. The breakaway. Boromir was corrupted by the ring, tried to seize Frodo. Frodo ran away on his own but was found later by Sam. The two of them decided to continue the journey by themselves. Frodo realized that the Ring has the power to corrupt his companions. So he was not willing to lead his friends in further danger and fight on his own. This is the part when the hero was mature enough to go and complete the quest by himself. 《The heros journey》这篇优秀的“初二作文”由作文网收集,来源于互联网和会员投稿,仅供参考和学习,转载请注明出处。
