Do you have an Idol? Idols always seem to be singers, actors, and other celebrities. But my idol is a close “friend”. More exactly, it is a family member – my mom.
Mom is very creative in cooking. Mom makes granola with cereal, corn flakes and honey, and it is about the best dessert ever. Mom changes the original recipe and makes them into whole new foods. One school morning, I found mom putting pieces of apples and blueberries into the pancakes. “Mom! What are you doing there ruining a perfect pancake?!” I was flabbergasted. “Just making fruity pancakes.” She said innocently while licking the maple syrup off her fingers. I sat at the dining table and took a bite of the “fruity pancake” halfheartedly. It actually tasted pretty good, so I have to give my mom credit for that. Sometimes, I wish I could make food as good as my mom.
Mom is also very good at exercising .She used run faster than me when I was in America. Mom would run as fast as if there was a monster chasing behind her when she and I were racing. Now I can run faster than my mom , but if it weren’t for mom making me practice I wouldn’t be very fast. Sometimes, mom wakes up very early to run. I bet she can beat me someday in running. I am very impressed by her perseverance.
